How to create images in the right size for banners, hero, spotlights, ads, etc. from scratch

If you do not have access to Adobe Photoshop, there are several free online resources that are available and easy to use. One of those tools is called Photopea. Below you will find the instructions on how to create an image in the correct size for the What's New -- Top Feature article (640px x 225px). For a list of required image size and formats, visit this article


  1. Go to https://www.photopea.com/
  2. Click New Project  
  3. Fill out the following fields:
    1. Name
    2. Width (640)
    3. Height (225)
    4. DPI: 300
    5. Background: White 
  4. Click Create 
  5. To embed an image (like your affiliate logo), click File and select Open & Place
     
  6. Select your image and click Open 
  7. To resize the embedded image drag the corners (optional) 
  8. Once done, click the checkmark at the top of the page 
  9. Next, from the right-side panel (under Layers), click CTRL and then click the Background layer (the other layer should already be highlighted)

  10. With both layers highlighted, right-click in the highlighted area and select Merge Layers 
  11. Click File, down to Export As and select JPG 
  12. If you didn't provide a name in step 3, go ahead and provide a name. Otherwise, click Save (this will save to your selected default folder for downloading files ; i.e. Downloads, My Documents, Desktop)
